"So where do you start when considering SDF as a part of treatment planning? If you work with a dentist, have a collaborative discussion about when SDF should be offered. Start with small children, patients with special needs, or those whose lesions are in non-esthetic zones, such as a patient with early decay starting around a posterior crown margin. If you work independently, consult your provincial regulatory body to determine your scope of practice, and learn how you can help patients with this cost efficient, minimally invasive solution."
