Cetacaine: profound, long-lasting and cost-effective anesthesia
Cetacaine is a non-injectable liquid topical anesthetic that will allow you to treat your patients with a profound, long-lasting and cost-effective anesthesia.
Mechanism of Action
The combination of benzocaine (short duration for a quick onset in 30 seconds), tetracaine hydrochloride (slow onset for an extended duration of 30 to 60 minutes) and butamben (intermediate action bridge) acts by reversibly blocking nerve conduction. The speed and duration of action are determined by the ability of these agents to be absorbed by the mucous membrane and nerve sheath and then diffuse out, and ultimately be metabolized, primarily by plasma cholinesterases, to inert metabolites which are excreted in the urine.
Why Switch to Cetacaine?
There are many reasons why you should switch to Cetacaine:
It is indicated for pre-injection use and sub-gingival application is possible.
It is more efficient and comfortable, which means that your patients compliance will increase.
Its duration is better than any other commonly used topical anesthetic on the market. (30 60 minutes)
It is fast acting. (in 30 seconds)
It is highly cost-effective, approximately $1.10 per quadrant.
Finally, the ingenious delivery system allows you the flexibility to use only the quantity you need, meaning no more waste of product during procedures.
