Indication
Softens caries-damaged infected dentin to ease removal by a dental professional. For professional use to aid in the physical removal of caries without the use of drilling.

What is Papácarie Duo?
Papacárie Duo® is an enzyme-based gel specially designed for the atraumatic caries removal and without anesthesia.

This gel is a harmless material that does not contain toxic or irritating components. Papacárie Duo® has been clinically tested and is safe for all ages, including young children.

A single drop of Papacárie softens caries and allows it to be removed from healthy dentin with a simple curette or spoon excavator. It only reacts in contact with infected dentin, leaving the healthy tissue intact.

In just 30 seconds, without pain or tenderness, you can remove cavities using only a hand instrument. In most cases, there is no need for anesthesia and/or drill.

Mechanism of Action
Papacárie Duo® works through a chemomechanical process:

Softening: The papain enzyme in the gel breaks down the proteins in decayed tooth tissue, making it soft and easier to remove.

Gentle removal: The softened tissue can be easily removed using gentle hand instruments, minimizing damage to healthy tooth structure.

Benefits
• Pain and anesthesia-free
• Reduced patient anxiety
• Quick process: 30–60 seconds (repeat as needed)
• Can be used in primary and permanent dentition
• Safe and harmless: no toxic or irritating components
• Viscous blue gel for easy application

Directions for Use
Adults & children (2 years and older)

0.1–3 mL, 1 time per day. To be used by a dental professional. Papacárie Duo® only reacts in contact with caries-damaged dentin. Healthy tooth tissue is unaffected by the active ingredient.

1. Apply gel to the caries-damaged tooth and allow to sit for 30–60 seconds.

2. Tap area to determine if damaged dentin is soft enough to gently scoop out, and scoop out as required.

3. Reapplication can be done immediately if needed with no need to rinse or dry in between steps. Repeat process until all damaged dentin is removed (confirmed by no softening occurring).

Medicinal Ingredient
Papain (Carica papaya fruit) 6000 FCC papain units
